Face In The Moon

Do you see the

Face in the moon

A pair of eyes

And a sly smile

Almost a sad face of gloom

I show him to others

They can never pinch their eyes

Right and enough, to see his silhouette

Maybe the never want to see

Maybe they are too busy

Being amazed at my naivety

Never participating in my fantasy

Sometimes I pretend to unsee it too

To fit in To shove in

Amongst the sane unimaginative poor

But the face smiles at me all the more

As if seeing through my fake pretences

With the sad smile and the gloom

Waiting for me to accept my sane madness

That shows me a distant

Friend in the moon . . .
