An Ordinary Joy

What is ordinary today

Was extraordinary once

It was a beginning

Of a new style, genre or stance

It was meant to speak

A new language, delivering

A new emotion, A new devotion

It was a maverick then, a rebel

A new found discovery, a marvel

So today when you look at the Ordinary

A moment’s pause, a meditative watch

Can reveal its inception

Can release its joy

Held captive by time

And your unobservant eye.
